HAVING HOPE AT HOME
by David S. Craig
Director: Candy Pryce*
Producer: Nancy Chapple Smokler
Stage Manager: Jack Davidson
On a winter night, in a drafty Ontario farmhouse, a baby is about to arrive and modern medicine meets midwifery in a torrent of family feuding. Tensions rise between three stubborn generations but so does laughter. This heart-warming story of forgiveness and hope reminds us that sometimes the human heart takes the longest way home.
Recommended for ages 13+ (some adult themes and mild language).
*The participation of this Artist is arranged by permission of Canadian Actors’ Equity Association under the provisions of the Dance*Opera*Theatre Policy (DOT).
Having Hope at Home was commissioned by the Blyth Festival (Janet Amos, Artistic Director) and subsequently developed by the Lighthouse Theatre, Port Dover (Robert More, Artistic Director).
The play premiered August 7, 2003 at the Blyth Festival, Blyth, Ontario (Eric Coates, Artistic Director).
Having Hope at Home is produced by permission of the Playwright and Marquis Literary (Colin Rivers) www.MQlit.ca
