Auditions: Audition Call for Four Play! A Series of Play Readings

We’re now looking for actors at all levels of experience for Four Play. This event presents lightly rehearsed readings of a variety of works. Whether you are an experienced actor looking for a new challenge or someone who has never been on stage, there is something for everyone!


The South Simcoe Theatre encourages inclusion, representation, and accessibility in all its endeavours both on stage and off.  In that spirit, we encourage diversity in our casting process.


All auditions will be a cold reading in front of the directors. Age requirement: Please be sixteen years of age or older.

Thursday, June 5th at 7:30PM

  • The Fourth Wife by Virginia O’Dine, Directed by Judi Erickson (2F, 3M)

    In 1961 Cuba, Mary, Ernest’s widow contends with grief, marital secrets, Fidel Castro, and living in the shadow of the Hemingway legacy.


Friday, June 6th at 7:30PM

  • Road Trip by Renee Baillargeon, Directed by Shari Morgan (4F, 1M)

    In this black comedy, four excited seniors head out with their driver for a day at “The Spectacular Spa”. When they arrive at the Spa, it turns out not to be at all what they were expecting.

  • Monthly Meeting of the Dullard Society by Laurie May, Directed by Zulany Pacheco (2F, 5M) A new member of the Dullard Society threatens to "shake things up"!


Saturday, June 7th at 7:30PM

  • Street Theatre by Morley Shulman, Directed by Chris Cluff (1F, 1M)

    A lighthearted one-act comedy, Street Theatre follows a couple whose improvised public outbursts—part of an experimental acting exercise—escalate into hilariously awkward situations, blurring the lines between performance and reality.  

  • A Night At The Starlight Lounge by Brian Lockhart, Directed by Stephanie Ffrench (3F, 6M)

    One night, nine strangers, a lot of laughs.


Sunday, June 8th at 2PM

  • ShockNAwe by Sandra Dempsey, Directed by Lee Clements (1F)

    Big Jan is a top-seller and knows her product as well as her clientèle, but she's not prepared for the consequence of her sales.

  • Killing Time by Len Cuthbert, Directed by Diana Poulsen (5 Characters)

    Upon his daily routine visit for lunch at a favourite restaurant, a patron is thrust into an unpleasant experience where he realizes he's just been killing time.
