A Lecture/Discussion with a THEA Award Winning Costume Designer
So, you’ve been asked to costume a play…what do you do next? This workshop will discuss all the things to consider when producing an effective costume story, from initially reading the script to what to do with the costumes when the show closes. Topics will include; sourcing, altering & constructing costumes; creating/altering patterns; fabrics for stage; iconic fashion eras; the use of colour; the dreaded quick change; reading the script for clues; working with the Director and Cast; Sandi’s Rule of Three; creating a costume plot; how to tell the story/advance the plot and make a statement with costumes; the use of accessories, footwear and wigs; plus much more!

Investment:
The cost of the workshop is $55 for SST Members and $65 for non-Members for one Saturday – 6.5 hours + workshop. The amount is payable to BoxOffice@TheSouthSimcoeTheatre.com via e-transfer* (subsidies may be available upon request). Please mention your name and the name of the workshop/class you're paying for in the message section of the e-transfer.
