June 5th – 8th, 2025
Deadline: Wednesday, March 12th, 2025
The South Simcoe Theatre is proud to announce the line-up for the 2025 edition of Four Play. The reading committee received seventy submissions from Canada alone, making the selection process full of conversation and debate, in addition to making the final selections difficult.
Four Play presents lightly rehearsed readings of a variety of works. Whether you are an experienced director or someone looking to try your hand at directing for the first time in a low-risk format, this could be for you!
Auditions will be held mid-April, with rehearsals in May. Rehearsal time in the SST space will be limited, so directors must be able to utilize their time in the rehearsal space effectively and organize rehearsals outside of the space with their casts if necessary. Potential candidates are reminded that this is a reading and are encouraged to use narrators to read stage direction in place of blocking and additionally, only basic technical elements will be available.
The South Simcoe Theatre encourages inclusion, representation, and accessibility in all its endeavors both on stage and off. In that spirit, we encourage diversity in our casting and director selection process.
Please send expressions of interest and any questions to the Four Play Committee at fourplay@thesouthsimcoetheatre.com. Plays will be available for perusal upon request. Be sure to include your top three choices of the shows in your expression of interest.
